A strong advocate for social and environmental justice, Kate is deeply committed to promoting comprehensive sex-positive sex education and leads a monthly abolitionist discussion group. In her free time, Kate loves dancing of all kinds, singing in womens' choirs, and vintage shopping with her sister.

After graduating with an Advanced Diploma in graphic design, Alanna currently runs her own business ‘Imperium Illustrations’ as an artisan brand that provides illustration & surface design as well as offering a wide collection of handcrafted art prints, stationery & instant downloads. Her main goal is to collaborate with organisations & industries she admires & is proud to have worked alongside with season 3’s ‘Sex Ed with DB’ production team.

Jamie is a native New Yorker and recent Hunter grad. She graduated with a degree in Gender and Women’s Studies with a concentration in sexuality and received an honors award for her thesis, “Conceptual Shortcomings of Affirmative Consent: A Case for Refocusing Campus Sexual Assault Adjudication Inadequacies Towards Title IX.” She is passionate about sex education and women’s sexual health/reproductive rights, and taught communication and consent workshops to 9th graders across the city with Peer Health Exchange. In her spare time she enjoys travel, photography, being around cacti, and curating her instagram.

Cally is a health psychology research assistant based in Los Angeles, California. She also volunteers her time at a sexual medicine clinic in San Diego. Cally is currently taking classes to apply for nursing school and plans to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is especially interested in sexual dysfunction and pain as well as consent and pleasure based sexual education. She is a graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, CA where she majored in media studies and pre-medicine and she can’t wait to one day own a dog.

She had always been passionate about sex education but during her time in Israel, this passion was ignited. After thinking about this experience more deeply, Danielle decided she would create a podcast that normalizes the often taboo topics of sex education. In June of 2017, Sex Ed with DB was born: a feminist podcast bringing you all the sex ed you never got through unique and entertaining storytelling!

In real life, she does fundraising and business development for Samasource, a social enterprise that connects marginalized women and youth to digital jobs in East Africa and South Asia. In her free time, Carly reads a lot and eats fancy food, and volunteers as a certified Rape Crises Counselor. She's based in NY.

As an artist and filmmaker native to the Bay Area Claudia is very happy to work as the Lead Editor and Sound Engineer on this podcast. Claudia first became obsessed with podcasts when she spent hours in the art studios at UCSB painting for her courses. And as Claudia also studied film, she learned that making content shapes the way we think about our world, so being a part of a podcast that discusses sex education in a more inclusive and accessible way is so important. Rachel Upton is a queer, feminist, vegetarian, sexual and reproductive health worker, who is currently residing in Los Angeles attending a nursing program to ultimately become an Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with Public Health and Gender & Women's Studies degrees from UC Berkeley a few years ago, and while attending fell in love with the Bay Area. Now being away from the place she calls home, working with the podcast has helped maintain the feeling of being connected!
