Our Story
Sex Ed with DB is a feminist podcast bringing you all the sex ed you never got
through unique and entertaining storytelling, centering LGBTQ+ and BIPOC experts.
October 2014
Danielle was teaching English abroad in Israel and had a wild encounter with a sexist Rabbi (read full story here!). This was her a-ha moment where she knew she wanted to make her career all about sex ed.
June 2017
It all started with a Facebook status and a dream! We ended up with 10 incredible volunteers to make season 1 the amazing season it was.
September 2017
Episode 1 of the intersectional feminist podcast was born: “This is Sex Ed, OK Everybody Giggle”.
January 2018
Cathren, a lawyer and sexual health advocate, joins DB for Season 2 of the podcast!

Sex Ed with DB gets a TikTok and our first video goes viral! (We gained 57K+ followers in 1.5 years!)

Sex Ed with DB releases its 50th episode: “Sex and Porn Addiction with Erica Garza”!

DB’s mom, Dr. Rebecca Levy-Gantt, becomes a 5-time guest of the podcast.

We doubled our sex positive Instagram followers from 10K to 20K in 3 months!
September 2021
The first episode of The Seggs Ed Show is released. The Seggs Ed Show is the video series cracking open sex education for all!
March 2022
Season 6 of The Sex Ed with DB Podcast is launched and DB is featured in Netflix’s “The Principles of Pleasure” released in over 100 countries with millions of viewers!
September 2022
DB launches her new workshop, “Building A Profitable Sexual Health Brand”! In this course, DB teaches sexual health pros in all fields how to: cultivate your sexual health brand, make relationships with others in the space, how to close a sponsorship, how to create stellar content and grow your social media following, and how to make a living as a sexual health expert.
April 2023
We launched Curious Sex Ed, hosted by @sexedwithdb and @sexedfiles — real sex educators answering even realer anonymous sex ed questions. We believe that curiosity around bodies, relationships, and sexuality is for everyone — and educate about amazing sex ed topics and share juicy personal stories along the way.
