Carly Yoshida, Fundraising Coordinator
Carly is extremely passionate about all things related to women's health and sexuality, especially combatting gender-based violence and rape culture. In real life, she does fundraising and business development for Samasource, a social enterprise that connects marginalized women and youth to digital jobs in East Africa and South Asia. In her free time, Carly reads a lot and eats fancy food, and volunteers as a certified Rape Crises Counselor. She's based in NY.
Lisa Feierman, Social Media Lead
Lisa is a digital news editor based in New York City. To remain inspired in this political climate, she also curates her own weekly good-newsletter, Rose-Colored Roundup, which highlights the feel-good news stories of empowerment and progress that we tend to miss these days. She is passionate about shining a light on policy issues that are often overshadowed by horse race political coverage. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Media & Public Policy.
Carissa Diaz, Graphic Illustrator
Carissa (Mizz Doodle) is a San Francisco based artist whose main mediums include digital and pencil illustration. She is a senior at SF State and is graduating with a BA in Studio Art. Carissa is currently working on creating her own shop to sell a range of custom prints and stickers focusing on uplifting women. Her main goal as an artist is to use the work as a vessel to propose questions about the world we live in through a playful visual lens.
Cathren Cohen, Content Editor
Cathren is a lawyer, activist, and feminist living in New York City. Cathren is dedicated to utilizing both legal advocacy and public engagement to fight injustice and promote evidence-based policy. She is particularly passionate about reproductive justice and the rights of LGBTQ individuals. Cathren is a proud graduate of NYU School of Law and UCLA.
Katie McMurran, Audio Engineer and Sound Editor
Katie is a sound engineer with over ten years experience working in public radio. She is currently based at KQED in San Francisco. In her spare time she mixes multiple podcasts, records music and donates recording time to a few Bay Area nonprofits.
Alex Morton, Website Designer and Creator
Alex is currently living her dreams of living in France; when she's not wrangling together a bunch of French high school students trying to teach them to speak English, she's working on her website design business - Alex Morton Creative. She enjoys discovering new places and revisiting old ones, swimming for extended periods of time in the ocean, reading about entrepreneurial women, and feeling inspired by how those women created businesses and lives that set their hearts on fire.

Matt is a Bay Area native currently residing in Los Angeles. He spends his time rock climbing, cooking, spinning records, and listening to a wide variety of podcasts. This is the first podcast he has been a part of and he's excited to be a member of such an energizing team!

As an artist and filmmaker native to the Bay Area Claudia is very happy to work as the Lead Editor and Sound Engineer on this podcast. Claudia first became obsessed with podcasts when she spent hours in the art studios at UCSB painting for her courses. And as Claudia also studied film, she learned that making content shapes the way we think about our world, so being a part of a podcast that discusses sex education in a more inclusive and accessible way is so important. Claudia hopes to continue to make more art and content that represents issues and people’s stories that she cares about.
Aaron Steinfeld, Content Editor
Aaron Steinfeld spends their time talking with queer and trans high school students about activism, oppression, sex ed, and healthy dating. Aaron is also a a graduate student studying Education at San Francisco State University, and continues to find ways to learn about sexuality to benefit themself and the people they educate. When not working or learning, Aaron loves spending time with their families and cats, reading fiction, and putting on makeup.
Leah Treidler, Sound Editor
Leah is a sophomore at Oberlin College majoring in Cinema Studies and Creative Writing. She was born and raised in the East Bay and hopes to someday leave Ohio and return to the far better weather of Oakland. She is a passionate about sex education and working to open up conversations about sex in her community. She is also an avid podcast listener and dreams of someday having her own podcast on NPR.
Rachel Upton, Content Editor
Rachel Upton is a queer, feminist, vegetarian, sexual and reproductive health worker, who is currently residing in Los Angeles attending a nursing program to ultimately become an Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with Public Health and Gender & Women's Studies degrees from UC Berkeley a few years ago, and while attending fell in love with the Bay Area. Now being away from the place she calls home, working with the podcast has helped maintain the feeling of being connected! In her free time, Rachel likes to spend time with friends, plan her next travel adventure, read, play with her turtle Laci, and ride her new bicycle!

Kathryn has always loved digital media and marketing - Her favorite projects include working with a comic book store, a healthy food app, and of course Sex Ed with DB! So far, she has really enjoyed learning more about the technical side of podcasts and planning the Sex Ed with DB Live event. She's also a great lover of books, animals, coffee, Harry Potter, and sporadic adventures!

Jessica is an illustrator who is passionate about design, media, education, and storytelling. She enjoys collaborating with people to work on projects that make a difference. She hopes Sex Ed with DB will empower people with the knowledge they need to feel confident and make smart decisions. When Jessica is not working, she is exploring San Francisco and thinking about if she should get a cat or dog one day.

She recently moved back to the Bay Area after seven years in DC, where, disappointingly, she never ran into the Obamas. She loves various forms of storytelling and exploring themes of identity, culture, and of course, sex(ed).
